FAQ
How do you get your cards in and out of the TUF Wallet?
To get cards in
- Fan your cards keeping them together at one corner
- Slice the bottom (or top) card in to the bevel of the wallet
- Continue slicing the rest of the cards in a downward motion (back towards you) until all cards have a footing inside the wallet
- Square your cards and slide them in
This can feel a little awkward the first couple of attempts, but you'll have it down with a little practice in no time.
To get cards out
- Place your index and middle finger on the top edge of the wallet, opposite the bevel, on either side of the cards
- Push the cards out of the bevel using your thumb
- Pinch and pull the exposed cards out a couple of centimetres
- Fan your cards and pull out the one you need to use
- When finished, slice it in using the bevel. No need to go through all the steps outlined above.
How many cards can the wallets fit?
You can fit more than 10 in to the wallet easily.
How do TUF Wallets block RFID?
RFID uses EMW (Electro Magnetic Waves) to transmit signals between devices and objects.
The TUF Wallet is made of Aluminium or Carbon Fibre, creating what's known as a Faraday Cage around your credit or EFTPOS cards.
Both aluminium and carbon fibre can block electromagnetic waves because they are electrically conductive materials. When an electromagnetic wave, such as a radio wave or a cell phone signal, encounters a conductive material like aluminium or carbon fibre, the wave induces an electrical current in the material. This electrical current produces an opposing electromagnetic field that cancels out the incoming wave, effectively blocking its transmission.
Aluminium is an excellent conductor of electricity and is commonly used to shield electronic devices and components from electromagnetic interference. Carbon fibre is also conductive, although not as much as aluminium, and is often used in aerospace and other high-performance applications to block electromagnetic radiation.
Overall, the ability of TUF Wallets to block electromagnetic waves is due to their conductive properties and their ability to generate opposing electromagnetic fields that cancel out incoming waves.
